I expected some arguments over Luffy and Kaido, but what surprised me this week was how completely our community split over the World Government's elite. On our [Strongest One Piece Characters](https://ranklist.io/list/strongest-one-piece-characters) list, built by 6 rankers, the fandom is having a massive identity crisis regarding the power levels of the Five Elders and the Holy Knights.
We are talking about some of the most dramatic disagreements we have seen in months. The biggest lightning rod is easily St. Figarland Garling. Some voters seem ready to place him comfortably ahead of established legends, while others clearly think he is riding entirely on hype and family name. It makes sense why we cannot agree. Garling has the narrative weight, but we still have not seen him go all-out in a sustained fight. He represents a classic power-scaling trap where reputation clashes with actual feats on the page.
The rest of the chaos centers directly on the Gorosei. St. Shepherd Ju Peter and St. Topman Warcury are causing massive headaches for voters trying to build a cohesive tier list. Warcury has shown some of the most absurd durability in the entire series, yet some rankers still place him well below the Yonko, while others argue his defense puts him near the very top.
Then you have St. Marcus Mars and St. Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro. Nusjuro has the cool sword feats that usually guarantee a high spot among anime fans, yet he is just as heavily disputed as his fellow Elders. It feels like the community is split on a fundamental question. Are these immortal elders actual top-tier fighters, or are they just trick cards with a regeneration gimmick?
