1. Who we are and what this is

Ranklist.io is a community ranking platform operated by Sentire Labs. These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and Sentire Labs and govern your use of the website, accounts, and related services. By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the site, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Some regions require a higher minimum age, and where local law sets a different threshold, that threshold applies to you. You agree to provide accurate information when you sign up, to keep your sign-in credentials secure, and to be responsible for everything that happens under your account.

You can request account deletion at any time by emailing support@ranklist.io. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

3. How rankings and content work

Ranklist.io lets you create lists, rank items on lists, suggest items, comment on lists, and pin lists or users. The community results you see on each list are computed from every participating user’s ballot using a Bayesian-smoothed Borda count, as described on the About page.

You retain ownership of the lists, rankings, comments, and other content you submit. By posting content to Ranklist.io, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, reproduce, and adapt that content for the purpose of running and promoting the site, including in newsletters, social posts that link back to the site, and site-generated blog content. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained for legitimate operational or legal purposes.

4. Acceptable use

Some things are off-limits regardless of how clever your ranking is. Specifically, you agree not to:

• Post content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that targets individuals or protected groups.
• Submit content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other rights of any person.
• Manipulate rankings through coordinated voting, multiple accounts, automated scripts, or any technique that undermines the integrity of the community signal.
• Scrape the site or its API at a volume or frequency that could degrade service for other users.
• Probe, reverse-engineer, or attempt to bypass the site’s security, authentication, or moderation systems.
• Use Ranklist.io to send spam, phishing attempts, or any unsolicited commercial messages.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any individual or organization.

We may remove content, restrict accounts, or apply strikes that affect your trust tier when content or behavior violates this section. Severe or repeated violations result in account termination.

5. AI-assisted content on the site

Some editorial content, including blog posts on the news section, is generated with the help of AI based on the community ranking data the site already holds. We label this content where appropriate and review it against our quality bar before it goes live. The community rankings themselves are not AI-generated. They reflect real ballots from real users.

6. Third-party content and links

List items often reference external works (movies, games, albums, books, people, places). Cover art, descriptions, and similar metadata may be sourced from third parties such as TMDB, IGDB, and Wikipedia under their respective terms. The presence of a third-party work in a list does not imply any endorsement by, or affiliation with, that work’s creators or rights holders. Links to external sites are provided for convenience and do not constitute endorsement of those sites.

7. Advertising

Ranklist.io may display advertising provided by third parties, including Google AdSense. Advertising and analytics cookies are governed by our Cookie Policy, and visitors in jurisdictions that require explicit consent will see a consent banner before any non-essential cookie is set.

8. Disclaimer

Ranklist.io is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content on the site, and we disclaim all implied warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law. Community rankings reflect the opinions of participating users and are not a statement of objective truth.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sentire Labs and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of business opportunity. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of the site will not exceed one hundred US dollars.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site, and the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the site after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New Jersey for any dispute arising out of these terms or your use of Ranklist.io. Nothing in this section deprives consumers of mandatory protections available under the law of their place of residence.
