I was expecting the usual arguments over Shanks and Mihawk this week, but our community went somewhere completely different. Based on 6 rankers throwing down their takes, the biggest fights on the board belonged almost entirely to the World Government's top brass.
The battleground was our [Strongest One Piece Characters list](https://ranklist.io/list/strongest-one-piece-characters), and the splits on the Five Elders were pure chaos.
St. Figarland Garling was the single most divisive character on the entire board. I saw people placing him right near the top of the verse alongside prime legends, while others pushed him much lower. It makes sense why we cannot agree on him. He has incredible narrative backing as the former Supreme Commander of the Holy Knights, but we still have not seen him go all-out in a full, drawn-out fight. Fans are split between rating his narrative clout and waiting for hard combat feats.
Then you have the rest of the Elders, where nobody could settle on an internal hierarchy. St. Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro and St. Topman Warcury generated massive arguments. Warcury showed off some of the most absurd durability feats we have seen in the entire series, yet rankers could not decide if that places him comfortably ahead of his peers or just makes him a high-end defensive wall. Nusjuro sliced through frozen Pacifistas with zero effort, which sent his stock soaring for some fans while others kept him floating near the middle.
Even St. Marcus Mars and St. Shepherd Ju Peter created sharp divides. Mars made a massive impression with his giant aerial presence, but Ju Peter seemed to suffer a bit in the court of public opinion. Some voters treated all five as functionally equal, while others insisted there is a clear power structure inside the room at Pangaea Castle.
My theory is that we are witnessing a huge clash between feat-based ranking and narrative hype. Recent chapters gave us a clear look at what these guys can do, but their strange regeneration abilities make traditional power scaling almost impossible. Until someone figures out a hard counter to them, every single fan is using a different yardstick to measure their actual combat strength.
